Take advantage of Massachusetts energy storage incentives

Peak Power works with a wide range of commercial and industrial building owners, energy managers, and sustainability managers to help reduce demand charges and Scope 2 emissions. Our deep well of energy expertise ensures that any project we undertake is based on a strong business case and can take advantage of Massachusetts energy storage incentives that are available.

Massachusetts Energy Storage Incentives

Maximize savings and revenue by taking advantage of federal, state, municipal, and utility incentives with your clean energy projects.

In Massachusetts there are several incentives and programs available that C&I customers could take advantage of. These include the Renewable Energy Property Tax Exemption – a 20-year tax exemption applied to the increased value of real property resulting from the development of clean energy projects – and the EV Charging Station Program which is a financial incentive to install electric vehicle charging stations at commercial sites.

Massachusetts has also created the ConnectedSolutions program which enables commercial and industrial facilities to make money by reducing their energy consumption during peak demand events.

Of course, there are several other energy storage incentives and programs for commercial real estate and industrial facilities to take advantage of.  Reach out to talk with our energy experts or download our Energy Incentives Guide below to learn more.

Are you taking full advantage of energy incentives in Massachusetts?

There’s a vast network of financial incentives to power the shift to distributed energy resources (DERs), but these incentives can be hard to navigate and complex to understand.

With the right strategies commercial and industrial players can unlock profitability, tap into multiple value streams and incentives, and make progress towards net zero.

Reducing ICAP costs with Energy Storage

In 2018, Peak Power worked with GHP Office Realty to develop a battery storage project consisting of 4 energy storage units, with a total capacity of 1,334 kW.

The energy storage system reduces utility costs and provides peak demand relief for the utility. Con Edison, the electric utility for this site, provides funding for this system to reduce peak demand during certain windows of time through the Demand Management Program.

By participating in the program, the project received an incentive from Con Edison, reducing the total project cost.
