Derek Lim Soo is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of leadership experience in clean technology and energy. Across senior roles in global firms and as Co-Founder of Peak Power, Derek has influenced the role of Distributed Energy Resources in key North American electricity markets.Known for his ability to bridge innovation, finance, and strategy, Derek is recognized as a trusted leader and respected voice in the energy transition. He has guided companies through capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and technology commercialization while building teams that deliver impact in rapidly evolving industries. Derek is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Toronto Chapter
Benson has 20 years of experience in software development and services. As the former Department Manager at UMPay, he led the team to be the third largest mobile payment company in China with a transaction volume of over 250M RMB per month. He grew and managed a team of over 60 software developers, designers, risk managers, and sales specialists to handle transactions with thousands of large corporations and financial institutions, including China Mobile, China Railway, JD.com, Western Union, and more. Benson also holds a master’s degree in Signal and Information Processing – Artificial Intelligence.
Farid is a climate finance professional with extensive experience in scaling functions for growth companies. Before joining Peak Power, Farid led and grew the project finance function at Northland Power (TSX:NPI), executing M&A and financing transactions for utility-scale renewable projects in the Americas and Europe. He started his career with the private investment team of a family office and later joined as the finance lead of a portfolio company, where he helped grow the team, complete acquisitions, and raise follow-on funding. The portfolio company was later sold to strategic investors.
At Peak Power, Scott oversees Sales, Project Development, Markets, and Operations. He delivers innovative energy solutions and market strategies, leading teams in constructing and integrating energy storage systems. Previously, as Senior Director of National Operations at Cadillac Fairview Corporation, Scott reduced costs via strategic procurement, optimized revenue, and implemented a $2.8M energy platform. With over 30 years of experience, he has led teams in creating centres of excellence, overseeing building operations, project management, capital planning, and vertical transportation.
